A scientific model of a gas The chlorine gas in this container is made up of chlorine molecules. Each molecule is a combination of two chlorine atoms. Chlorine molecules, like all gas molecules, are in constant random, chaotic motion and undergo frequent collisions with each other and with the container walls.
